EMSOP Involvement fair

First general meeting

Interested students and NJSHP members attended our first general meeting of the semester to learn more about our mission and upcoming events. 

Clinical skills competition

September 26th, 2012

​Teams of two students paired up to participate in an interactive, team-based analysis of clinical scenarios for hospital/health-system pharmacists. The winners of the competition went on to nationals and received FREE registrations to ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada in December 2012.

Effective grassroots involvement in the policy making process

October 10th, 2012

This event was part of the October advocacy month series. Ms. Heidi Ecker, the Director of Government Affairs and Grassroots Programs at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), educated our students about how policy-making is the fundamental base of advocacy and how the process works. 

NJSHP Bake Sale

Delicious baked goods were sold in the SERC to help raise money for NJSHP.

Pharmacy & therapeutics committee field trip to RWJUH

Along with AMCP, students sat in with health care professionals and learned about the important of a P&T Committee. 

A day in the life of a resident

October 25th, 2012

In collaboration with ACCP, EMSOP students were able to get a unique view into the world of residency from current residents across New Jersey! ​Residents and pharmacists from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Peters University Hospital assembled to answer student questions about the life of a post-graduate resident.

Diabetes Walk and Health Fair

October 27th, 2012

NJSHP was joined by NCPA to raise awareness and collect funds at the Diabetes Walk, sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. Patient outreach clinics were also held presenting on diabetes the disease state as well as holding blood pressure screenings. Attending past training was required to participate in this outreach event.

Monster Mash

October 31st, 2012

​In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, NJSHP joined other Rutgers student organizations to provide a safe alternative to trick-or-treating for children in New Brunswick and Piscataway.

CV/Mock interview workshop

CVs were checked by a member of the faculty and sign-ups for Mock Interviews were held.
